This guide describes options for adding library resources to a Canvas course.

This guide provides instruction on how to integrate the library into a Canvas course. There are many options in Canvas for connecting the students with library resources, library instruction, and librarian assistance. Detailed instructions for each option are listed below. Embed a library subject guide into a module

There is a library subject guide for each department at Waubonsee Community College. Some individual courses and sections also have guides highlighting resources for a specific assignment. Add a librarian to a Canvas course

The Librarian role in Canvas allows access to Discussions and Messages. Librarians can assist students directly within the Canvas course. Contact an individual librarian or email reference@waubonsee.edu if you would like to request a librarian for your course.

Import a library instruction module

Waubonsee library instruction modules are available in the Canvas Commons. Import the module to include it in the course. To see all library modules in the Canvas Commons, search "Waubonsee Library."

Embed a Kanopy Video

WCC has access to Kanopy Video, a database that allows users to watch multi-disciplinary videos, movies, documentaries, etc. Instructors can embed a Kanopy video into their Canvas course using the guide below.
