Canvas and the Library: Overview

This guide describes options for adding library resources to a Canvas course.

Integrate the library into a Canvas course. There are options in Canvas for connecting the students with library resources, library instruction, and librarian assistance. Detailed instructions for each option are listed below. Please contact the library at reference@waubonsee.edu, if you need any additional assistance.

Embed a library subject guide into a module

There is a library subject guide for each department at Waubonsee Community College. Some individual courses and sections also have guides highlighting resources for a specific assignment. If you would like to request a library guide for your specific course, email reference@waubonsee.edu. View the complete list of library subject guides

Add a librarian to a Canvas course

The Librarian role in Canvas allows access to Discussions and Messages. Librarians can assist students directly within the Canvas course. Contact an individual librarian or email reference@waubonsee.edu, if you would like to request a librarian for your course.
