Pride Month 2024 Events

These events are organized and hosted by Waubonsee's Pride Planning Committee.

Pride Flag Raising

• Thursday, June 1
• Dickson Flag Pole, Sugar Grove Campus
• Waubonsee Community College will raise the Pride Flag in solidarity with the LGBTQ+ community.
• As part of the college's commitment to be an inclusive, equitable, and compassionate community, the Pride Flag will fly all Pride month from June 1st-June 30th.

Tie-Dye Craft

• June 7, 2023
• 11 a.m.-1 p.m. (This is a passive event: come when you want to during this time; you don't need to stay the entire time)
• Student Center Lobby at Sugar Grove as well as Plano, Fox, and Downtown Lobby
• Join us in celebration of Pride Month and make your won tie-dye T-shirt! T-shirts will be provided for anyone interested in customizing their own Pride tie-dye shirt. Limited supplies available.

Pride Parade

• Sunday, June 11th
• Noon
• Downtown Aurora
• If you're planning on attending the Pride Parade in Downtown Aurora, be on the lookout for Waubonsee affiliates walking in the parade.

Pride Health & Resource Fair

• Thursday, June 15th
• 11 a.m.-1 p.m.
• Student Center Lobby at Sugar Grove campus
• Take pride in your health and wellness as a health and resource fair is offered featuring LGBTQIA+ friendly businesses and resources to improve the community's well being and connectivity.

Pride Party in Plano

• Thursday, June 29th
• 11 a.m.-1 p.m.
• Plano Lobby and the reserve a room
• What better place to close out Pride Month than at the campus known for its innovation, creativity, and community collaboration? Join the Pride Party in Plano for free food, music, and fun! Limited supply of pizza will be provided, and in addition, employees are encouraged to bring a dish to add to the fun. You don't want to miss this!
