In 2019 the Hispanic population of the United States was 60.6 million, making people of Hispanic origin the nation’s largest ethnic minority. National Hispanic Heritage Month celebrates the rich culture and the contributions of Americans who trace their roots to Spain, Mexico, Central America, South America and Spanish-speaking nations of the Caribbean.
