I never thought that I could make a career out of my love for reading and community until I started working at my college library as a student worker. I saw the impact that librarians could make on students and decided I wanted to give back to the community in some way. When I eventually started working at a public library (before my time at Waubonsee), I realized that libraries are so much more than books and databases. They are community hubs, one of the last third spaces left. Libraries are a place where anyone should feel welcome, with resources and activities for everyone. My love for libraries continues to grow, and I'm excited to see what libraries do next!
