Newspapers: New York Times

Guide to finding regional, national, international and historical newspaper sources.

New York Times

Our New York Times product is a full online newspaper, and not a traditional database, so it operates a bit differently.  When the college subscribes, we get Academic passes for all faculty, staff and students, but you have to create an account. See the following instructions:

To activate an Academic Pass:

  • You need to have a valid email address provided by the school supplying the passes.
  • You must log into or create an account with your current Waubonsee email address.
  • You cannot be an existing digital subscriber.
  • The school must have passes available.
  • The best way to create an account is to go to the List of databases on the library website and click on the New York Times link. Click on "Create an account".
  • After creating your account, you will be able to use the app or stay signed on in any of your devices.
  • Passes do expire every year and the process will need to be repeated.
